Qualcomm Snapdragon vs MediaTek | Which one you should buy?

Origin

Qualcomm Snapdragon chips is a family of mobile system on a chip (SoC) made by Qualcomm for the use of smartphones, tablets, smartbooks. SoC is basically a chip which has a processor, a Graphic card and various types of controllers and sensors. Qualcomm company was founded in 1985 and is comparatively older than MediaTek which was founded in 1997. Qualcomm stands on the first rank in smartphone processors. On the other hand, MediaTek is a very popular company in the South Asian market.

Why are Snapdragon processors so costly?

Well, the price of the chip does not depend only on the processor but on the performance which is dependent on various factors like controllers, sensors and majorly on the Graphic card on that chip. If we compare the Graphic card then we find an Adreno GPU on Snapdragon SoC, whose performance is way better than Mali GPU which is found on MediaTek processors. Snapdragon processors are more optimised to various types of Games, Softwares this is the main reason to buy a Snapdragon processor over MediaTek.

Still, why do people choose MediaTek?

Talking about MediaTek, it is a company which does not do any research on optimising their processors and simply assemble various components available in the market and sell them. As they do not do any research the cost of their processors is also low as compared to Snapdragon who constantly does research on how their processors will be more efficient/optimised. And the budget is the main reason why people choose a low priced processor rather than going with the one which is more optimised.

Why buy Qualcomm based phones?

Firstly the GPU given by MediaTek is not optimised to all software and hardware. Which results in a bad performance output by the MediaTek processor. Secondly, we now have options for a Qualcomm based phone in a low price segment. So why should we buy an average processor phone? If we sit to compare the processors on same segments then we find that not a single MediaTek processors are more optimised than Snapdragon. MediaTek has only one flagship processor that is the MediaTek hello X30 is available only in one phone. While this post was made Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 was the best processor compared to its price range. So guys would strongly suggest you buy a Qualcomm based phone that's it.

NVIDIA vs AMD | GPU | Which GRAPHIC CARD you should buy?

What is GPU?

GPU(Graphics Processing Unit) is a specially designed processor to handle Graphics. It is used by gamers to play high-end games who take help of parallel computing setup. For example, you are playing Assassin's Creed and you are standing on top of a hill, u have some trees, birds, water, the sky in front of you so before displaying the contents of the game frame GPU will help your PC to locate the contents and change it as you move around. Thus GPU enhances the gaming performance for the user. Moreover, dedicated GPU helps you to achieve a better performance compared to an integrated GPU.

GPU

NVIDIA  vs  AMD

These two companies make equally great video cards for PC gaming. We will compare both these cards on some common platform.

1. PRICE X PERFORMANCE

If we consider the price to performance ratio both these companies constantly try to compete with each other to make the best possible card by comparing the price. While this post was made NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1080 is/was the best choice for those who can afford it. While AMD's new RADEON RX Vega 64 could not beat the GeForce GTX 1080. So if you want to buy a good graphics card start looking up the Benchmarks.

GeForce GTX 1080

2. POWER CONSUMPTION

It is difficult to choose a power efficient card from either of these companies. Both the companies continuously tend to make more power efficient cards which depend on the architecture. Nvidia cards are generally more power-efficient compared to AMD which tend to heat-up a little faster.

RADEON RX Vega 64

Technology

Considering physics Nvidia leaves AMD a way behind. Nvidia tries to make the effects in the game look more realistic. It improves the graphics by bringing more complex PhysX simulation. For example, in the game, if you collide on a tree while driving a car then Nvidia's card will try to determine what kind of realistic effect the tree would have on the car and then produce it on the screen with a realistic feel for the gamer. This is the main reason to select NVIDIA card over AMD.

So while selecting a Graphic card for your PC select a card which best suits your expectations and also fall in your budget range. Both the Graphic Card are equally better in their way of performance and it is really difficult to chose one.

I hope you must have understood what is a GPU and how does it work. If you have any suggestions please do mention it in the Comment section & if you have not yet liked the post please hit that G+ button.

Blue Whale Game | Very Dangerous Game - Stay Away!!!

Stay Away!!!   Stay Away!!!   Stay Away!!!

Blue Whale/The Secret House game is getting very popular in teenagers these days. The game starts with some sort of weird challenges which you have to complete for example 1) Watch a Horror movie alone, send the proof that you finished watching the movie and that's it the challenge is completed 2) Wake up at 4:20 AM. First, the user thinks that challenges are very easy and gets tempted to completing the challenge one by one. Moreover this game in not available on Playstore/App store. You get a link for this game.

Slowly the challenges start getting more dangerous to the user, for example, the user has to draw a whale on his hand using some sharp tool. Many teenagers have fallen for the trap of this game and lost their lives.

The last challenge is to suicide. If you are a teenager then please stay away from such games. Life is more precious than playing such dangerous games. Once again I request Stay away from such games.

Google Maps | Offline Navigation | Travel time | Google I/O #3

How does Google Maps work?

Google takes help of Crowd Sourcing to show you live traffic in your area. Crowd sourcing means when you open Google Maps on your phone you also contribute to the traffic around you. Google traces that whether you are steady at a single place or moving. Many people like you also make use of Google maps at the same time, Google makes use of different people at the same time and finds the average of all and represents it to you in the form of Heavy traffic in one region and no traffic in other. This is one such technique to monitor the traffic to your destination. Google also uses other techniques such as, various organizations have helped Google to setup sensors on highways which monitor the traffic and send the live condition of traffic. This was all about how Google maps work, now let's setup Offline Google maps.

How to save Google maps offline?

  1. Head to Google Maps. Open city where you want to travel to or where you live in. Click on the 3 bar menu.
  2. Click on Offline maps.
