What is 3D?

3D means 3 Dimension that is its Length, Width, and Height.

In computers, 3-D (three dimensions/dimensional ) describes an image that provides the perception of depth. 3D images are made interactive so that users feel involved with the scene, the experience is called virtual reality.

How 3D is Recorded?

If we record something with a camera it is a 2D recording because the camera is set to an angle and it captures whatever it can see on the screen in front of the lens. In 3D recording, we construct a 2 camera setup,

both cameras face towards the subject but both are slightly tilted and the separation
is not much. Both the cameras capture the subject from two different angles. At a professional level, people use two different cameras and after the video is recorded they overlap both the recordings and the output is a 3D movie.

HTC and LG had launched some mobile phones which could record 3D. They had two cameras which would give you a 3D recording.
